Lawmaker pulls bill, backed by Madison developer, to prolong Middleton tax incentive district.  (Wisconsin State Journal, 2/12/2016)
What a surprise!  A failed assault on local control.  An Oconomowoc lawmaker said he’s pulling his support, at the urging of Middleton city officials and lawmakers, for a bill backed by Madison developer Terrence Wall that could provide additional public incentives for a project Wall wants to develop.
Rep. Joel Kleefisch, R-Oconomowoc [recipient of $500; his wife Rebecca $3,875], and Sen. Rick Gudex, R-Fond du Lac, [$0, but looking forward to the next WDC update], introduced the bill last week, in the closing days of the 2015-2016 legislative session.

Fond du Lac is a 90-minute drive from Middleton, Oconomowoc about an hour.
